Two hundred and sixteen anurans representing 10 species (Bufo japonicus, Rana japonica, Ra. limnocharis, Ra. nigromaculata, Ra. ornativentris, Ra. porosa, Ra. rugosa, Ra. tagoi, Buergeria buergeri, andRhacophorus schlegelii) and 3 families were collected on Honshu Island, Japan, between 1994 and 1999 and examined for helminths. Gravid individuals of 5 species of Trematoda, Diplodiscus japonicus, Glypthelmins rugocaudata, Haematoloechus sibiricus, Mesocoelium brevicaecum, and Polystoma ozakii, 2 species of Cestoda, Cylindrotaenia japonica, Ophiotaenia ranae, 10 species of Nematoda, Amphibiocapillaria bufonis, Cosmocerca japonica, Cosmocercoides pulcher, Meteterakis japonica, Oswaldocruzia insulae, Os. socialis, Pharyngodon polypedatis, Rhabdias incerta, Rhab. nipponica, and Spiroxys japonica, and 1 species of Acanthocephala, Acanthocephalus lucidus, were recovered. Six new host records are reported. Rhabdias montana and Rhab. polypedates are proposed as synonyms of Rhab. nipponica.
